Trust & Accuracy
Why You Can Trust These Calculators
You are about to buy resin based on a number from the internet. Fair to ask: why should you trust it? This page explains who is behind the math, how the formulas are validated, and what to do if something looks off.
Who builds this site
Epoxy Project Planner is built and maintained by a small team focused exclusively on resin quantity planning. We do not sell epoxy. We do not take commissions from resin brands. The only goal is to give you a number you can actually buy against without wasting money or running short mid-pour.
How the formulas are validated
- Every calculator is built on published geometric formulas and unit conversion constants — not guesswork or marketing claims.
- Waste buffers, seepage estimates, and layer guidance come from documented project patterns, not arbitrary percentages.
- The methodology page shows every formula and assumption so you can verify the math yourself before you spend money.
- When a user reports a result that does not match real-world outcomes, we investigate and update the formula or assumptions.
What makes this different from a generic calculator
- Most epoxy calculators give you raw volume and stop. That number is always too low for a real project.
- This site adds waste, seepage, seal-coat, mixing loss, and layer guidance — the things that actually determine how much resin you need to order.
- Each calculator is tuned for a specific project type. A river table and a garage floor do not share the same measurement logic, so they should not share the same calculator.
What we show and what we do not
- We show raw volume and recommended order quantity side by side so you can see exactly where the extra material comes from.
- We do not hide assumptions. Waste percentage, seepage buffer, and seal-coat allowance are all visible and adjustable.
- We do not recommend specific resin brands. The calculators help you figure out how much to buy — the product choice is yours.
