Cylinder Mold

Cylinder Resin Calculator

Cylinders need diameter and height, not length and width. This page targets tumbler inserts, round columns, candle-style molds, and other straight-sided round castings.

FAQ

Questions people ask before buying epoxy

Can this calculate a hollow cylinder?

Not directly. Calculate the outside cylinder and subtract the inside cylinder volume, or use a water-fill test for the mold.

Is height the same as depth?

For cylinder molds, height is the filled vertical dimension of the resin cast.

Can I use this for a round tabletop?

Use the circle or round table page for shallow round tabletops. This page is for cylinder-style casts.

How accurate is this epoxy calculator?

It is designed for planning and procurement, not for replacing the manufacturer data sheet. The calculator is most useful when you add the right waste buffer and choose the page that matches your project type.

Why does the recommended amount exceed the raw volume?

Real projects lose material to mixing cups, edge soak-in, seepage, and safety margin. Raw volume alone is often too optimistic.

Should I still check the resin brand instructions?

Yes. Always confirm maximum pour depth, cure conditions, and mix ratio with the product documentation you plan to buy.
